About Self-Study

Depending on my personal experienceand emotional preference, I find that self-study is an extremely important skillfor those who want to learn new things.Thereasons are as following.

根據個人經驗和情感偏好，我認為自學對于一個想要學新東西的人來說是一項極為重要的技能。理由如下。

First, self-study is aneffective way to broaden our horizon and extend our knowledge.We can arrange our time and adjust our process flexibly according toour own concrete situation. For example, as college students, we can use someof our leisure time everyday to learn other subjects by self-study in additionto our major knowledge. At the same time, we also can extend our majorknowledge by self-study of other subjects.

首先，自學是我們拓寬眼界，增長知識的一個有效途徑。我們可以根據我們自己的具體情況自由地安排時間以及調整進度。比如作為一個大學生，我們可以每天利用一些空閑時間來自學除了專業知識以外的其他學科，與此同時，通過自學其他學科，我們還可以拓寬我們的專業知識。

Second, self-study is a process to developour ability of thinking and management. Self-study is a process that we gainknowledge or skills by our personal effort without others’ instruments. Therefore,in this process, we need to make choices by ourselves, arrange and control timeand process by ourselves, think about all kinds of questions by ourselves andfind out the solution about different problems by ourselves. In brief,self-study is all about us basically.

其次，自學是培養我們思維能力和管理能力的一個過程。自學就是我們在沒有他人指導，通過個人努力獲得知識或技能的過程。因此，在這個過程中，我們需要自己做選擇，自己安排和控制時間，自己思考各種各樣的問題以及自己找出不同問題的解決辦法�？傊�，自學基本上都是關于我們自己的。

Finally, self-study is a method to keeplearning. As the saying goes, “it is never too old to learn.” And our schoollife will come to an end some day and only through self-study can we keepourselves learning all the time. Thus, all of us need to form the habit of self-studyso that we can make a progress everyday.

最后，自學是保持學習的一種方法。正如俗話所說：“活到老，學到老”。我們的學校生活總有一天會結束，只有通過自學我們才能一直保持學習。因此我們都需要形成自學的習慣，這樣我們才能每天都有所進步。

In a word, self-study is essential andnecessary. Keep studying something new everyday and you will find yourselfimproving a lot some day.

總之，自學是很重要的，而且是必需的。每天保持學一點新東西，總有一天你會發現自己進步了很多。
