I Am Very Lucky

The woman I have to write about is my daughter. She was only five years old whenher father and I separated. He left me with five children to raise on my own.From the start, she was right by my side, helping with her younger siblings anddoing what she could to help me.

My daughter grew up quickly and never complained about having to keep an eye onher siblings while I took care of her elderly grandmother. My daughter has growninto a wonderful, caring woman. Now I am the one who needs care.

My daughterlives near me, holds down a full time job, and still finds time for her sixchildren and nine grandchildren. She sets a good example for her children anddoesn't nag them. I'm proud to call her my daughter. When I had my strokes, shestepped right in and took care of me. When my beloved husband died, my daughtermoved me closer to her, in a high rise apartment for the elderly, so she and herchildren could care for me. I live alone but I'm not lonely; I always know thathelp is as close as my phone, whether it's for a trip to the store or to thedoctor's. My daughter always finds time for me in her busy schedule. She eventakes me to Bingo once a week. She makes sure I always have videos from thevideo store downtown. I am very lucky and I feel very blessed to have her.
